It's all about the Wall

I came back to my apartment today from a day out with my mama, and what did I find but all three of my roommates (plus one cute Asian guy) painting the living room walls yellow and lime green. Wow! I knew that they were all wanting to paint the place, because they've been complaining about the whiteness since they've moved in, but I certainly wasn't expecting to come home today to find a totally different apartment. They also moved in a bunch more furniture and rearranged what we already had. It's pretty cool that these girls get something in there mind and actually follow through so quickly. It's making me realize how negative and inactive I really am. It's a fun thing to realize about oneself, for real.
For example, when they first told me that they were going to paint, what popped into my mind and eventually came out of my mouth was, "Who's going to be doing all this painting? Does anyone really know how to paint a house? It's going to be really hard to paint around all the doors, cabinets, outlets, and the refrigerator. And do you really want to paint it all white again when we move out in less than twelve months?" But I'll be damned if we all didn't just do it in two hours, which includes moving the fridge after Paige, one of the roomies, persuaded me that it could be done.
Now I'm the only one in my apartment that doesn't have her walls painted. And I must say that it's made me feel a little left out and behind. This feeling is not unfamiliar to me though. (I just realized that I could start talking about me feeling like I never fit in, but I've decided to spare you and me of that agony tonight.) Let's just stick to this decorating thing. So instead of painting my walls, which even after witnessing how easy it really is I'm still not convinced I need to do it, I've decided to put up lots of things up. This includes, but is not limited to...
a mermaid mirror my Aint Liz gave to me,
my happy, Mexican, paper flags,
a Maxfield Parrish calender,

a hanky my mama got at Goodwill,

a dry erase board that I keep my schedule and notes written on,

and a few paintings.
So I'm pretty content at the moment. At least have these few things up, right? There is still one wall of my room that is completely bare.
Do you have any ideas for my room? I'm open to any suggestions. Even if you say, "Hey Honeyluna, I think you should line one wall with a snake tank (say that ten times fast), and get yourself a boa constrictor as a pet." Although if you do suggest something such as this please don't expect me to follow through on your very thoughtful suggestion.
Thanks and lots of love. -H to the Luna

You got all that negativeness from me. "But it's too much trouble to paint!" I would whine.
Good thing you're getting another experience to learn from.
Nice post, Honeyluna!

Thanks Ms. Mama Moon. Yeah, it probably is good to get this new "positive" view, but some things might just drive me crazy. Like this morning there was a spider and my roomies were insisting that I kill the thing, but I didn't want to, so I just flung it over the balcony. Oh well. It will all be fine and I will learn more from this experience than anything else.

May I suggest the Rasterbator?

Pick a picture, run it through that thing, set the size, print it out, tape it together, and you can have a wall sized poster!

Sweet idea Bro. Thanks! That's were free color printing privileges at the Life Sciences building comes in handy. Hehe

Heck yeah. I did a big one for my bedroom from an old cold war scifi drawing of SOVIETS ON THE MOON! and it turned out really cool. Kind of a pain to cut and tape together, but once that was done it rocked.

You could make a realspace myspace page on your wall. Put up a big picture of you and some quotes and stuff and pictures you like and then when people come over hand them paper and sharpies and encourage them to post comments. If you have magazines they can cut out a picture representing themselves to put next to their comment. I always wanted to do that. And I love you.

P.S.
don't get a snake. Snakes always want to try on your clothes and then they're like "Oh wow, I'm so skinny, I look sssssssoooo good in your clothes! You should just give this to me!" and then you're all, "You are such a snake!" but you have to admit, they are skinny. Stupid snakes.

That's the funniest thing I've heard today.

You could put up posters from concerts you go to (I'm guessing that you're going to go to concert), or even concerts you don't attend. Look for them around the venues where the concert is held. You shouldn't take them down until after the concert has started.

That's such a clever idea Miss. Maybelle. I could definitely do that. Problem is, I don't even have an online myspace. I don't think I'm cool enough for that kind of thing. I think you should do that.
And you are so right about those snakes. They are always slinking around in some sexy little number, bragging about their skinny-ass self. That's why I've decided to get a panda bear as a pet!

My other Blog- That is also a good idea. Downtown Guy, my very clever brother, is the master of music posters on his walls. Right now I just have one that I could put up. I need to start seeing some more concerts.
Thanks for all the ideas guys!

There's a lack of good shows right now, sadly.

yeah, I haven't been to a show in quite a while. Nor have I heard about any good shows. Kinda disappointing. It's ok, though. I have my own stuff I need to be focusing on.
